Thanks, UTMike. When you find yourself snowed in, give it a try for it's an enjoyable way to pass some time.

Whoa, now !!

How did it come about that you found yourself snowed in with access to fresh daffodils?

I went through some of the older images I've taken when I came across these two daffodils that I staged for the "light painting experiment". My basement room has no window and when the lights are off, it is pitch black in there.

I set the camera on a tripod, set the daffodils on a table, focused the camera, and set it "bulb" controlling the shutter with a remote. Turned out the lights, open the shutter, and then shined a flashlight with a piece of paper towel over it to soften the light and brushed the daffodils with the soft light, and then closed the shutter.

It took a few attempts to get the results that I wanted as some sessions were too bright, some too dark, some with brighter or uneven spots, and finally, one that looked as I had hoped for. It's nice to have nothing to do and have all day to do it.

Dustie, this is a session that I did quite some time back. It is from my archive of sessions that I have done. It was early in my retirement and I was looking for ways to fill the new time I had on my hands. I bought the two potted daffodils at Lowes and planted them in the yard after staging them.
