Today spent Thanksgiving at my mothers house with my brother, family friend of over 60 years and my niece with her boy friend. These images were taken with a cell phone, probably an iPhone of my brothers wife.
I am the very hansom guy in the Red sweater shirt. My Mother is 90 and very alive, alert and active healthy.
These images mean very much to me and others so I am reaching out to only ones I can trust, the HOG Pro's here.
Please help me fix these images. I need a Photoshop person to remove obstructions on these images. I have the subscription to Adobe and used Lightroom to auto adjust and tweak them but I do not know how to use Photoshop.
This first image I think is the best so if a member could kindly do me a favor and remove the Black cord and glass angel which goes to the ceiling fan, and the candle stick and white chair, this would make the image perfect. I want to share it with the guy on the right where these are obstructive. He may not be with us long and I want to print these off for him, it will mean SO much to me and him and the others.

Thought I'd crop my earlier offering to enlarge the people within the frame - herewith.

My impression from his posts is that learning and using Photoshop was a problem for him as it would be for me. If so, there are easy to use and inexpensive alternatives and Affinity Photo is one of them. If I can learn to remove objects with it than anyone can. Was just trying to be helpful, sorry if I had a misimpression as to why he was unable to remove spots with Photoshop and asked for help.

I do not think it is a problem for me to learn. I have never had a need to do this type of editing before and have not taken the time to do it. I do use Light Room for adjustments but try to get what I want in the main image as shot. Since I did not take these I had no control. I have taken all the tips and links and will be doing this soon and will let you all know how it comes out. I see now this is an easy process and eager to jump in.

One more without background. Someone else can take the chair out if desired.

Nice work. I'd also apply some trial-and-error lens correction to compensate the the folks on the edges....photographically, that is.

This thread is getting old, but I'm catching up, so indulge me for a moment.

If you have a Photoshop subscription, please don't waste it by using only Lightroom and missing out on all that Photoshop can do so much better than not only Lightroom, but Affinity Photo, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP and all the others that are "just as good." They are not.

Lightroom is Adobe Camera Raw wrapped in a pretty interface and including a database. I have never used it, because Camera Raw is downloaded and installed with Photoshop, and is identical in function with Lightroom. It was originally a simple raw file developer with minimal controls that was intended to prepare the file for Photoshop, where the real work is done. You cannot composite in Lightroom, it has no layers. Its selection tools, while getting more sophisticated of late, are not as precise and controllable as those in Photoshop (the same goes for Affinity and Corel.) You cannot cut and paste, remove/replace backgrounds, replace skies, open eyes, do face transplants and head swaps—all the things that Photoshop does so well, in Lightroom. There are no adjustment layers, or smart objects In Lightroom. You don't even need the database to organize your files, I have always used Bridge for that, and it does everything I need it to.

If all you do is open an image and crop, and do some minimal color and tonal adjustments, you don't need Photoshop. It's when you run into problems like your photos here that Lightroom will be woefully inadequate.

I didn't try to remove the chair, because reconstructing the men behind would only make a mess. If you had another image of them without the chair that could be patched in, that would work much better.

It always amazes me how many people spend an hour "fixing" something, and never bother with the lens distortion...its usually the first thing I do. Especially those who use their phones—those pictures are awful enough as it is, but the elongated heads always give me a laugh.

Clean background removal, but the shadows are now on the same side as the light :-)

Wow! I sure missed that one. I looked at the gal on the far right and saw the light on her hand. Took it from there and never studied the picture any further. Light is actually coming from both sides. I only added the shadows to give it some depth. My working file is deleted now to fix it. Not sure Riderxlx liked it anyway.
