Sony A7R4 is a studio camera so you can't drag it through the dirt, or pound nails and expect it to function like new. Sure it can be used for other genres and it works quite well, but it is not the best in everything.
I shot with one for two years, mostly birds. The only issue was rolling shutter, which I knew going in.

I saw this earlier and made a few comments to Nick Page. he responded that he made this mainly because he would have been asked endlessly, did you switch?, why did your switch?, if he didn't make this video.

You can find countless videos from all social media folk about why they choose some gear over another, or why they switched from one brand to another, then later switch again, oh and then later switched back, LOL.

You could easily find videos of folks switching from X-brand to Nikon, or from X-brand to Sony or Panasonic, or Fuji, or even Olympus. .

Tony & Chelsea Northrup and Jared Polin change gear like they are changing shoes, and with both having over 1.4 million youtube subscribers they make big money every time their "click bait " titles like "Good Bye Sony" or "So Long Canon", or "Leaving Nikon" gets your fanboy juices cooking, pro or con, and you click on.

Nick Page only has 145K subscribers and needs to catch up to the big boys on youtube,. Every UHHer here who clicks on that video helps make Nick money from his monetized Youtube Channel.

Worldwide, top News Services have switched to Sony and Nikon mirrorless and not to Canon mirrorless for all their staff photographers and videographers worldwide.

The Sony models they are using to shoot in the most extreme conditions around the world are the A1, A9II, A7RIV, A7SIII, A7C, FX3, FX6. The Nikon model they are using is the Z9.

So who do you think knows best what you need?

Do your own research, do your own testing and decide yourself on what gear works best for you. Dont pay too much attention to ANY youtuber out to make money with their clickbait videos.

Cheers and best to you all.

I have dragged my A7RIV through dirt, sand, mud, water, weather and more all around the world for my professional work without any failure, and I have owned my A7RIV since they first came out back in August 2019 (Sony Pro Support Member Priority). It isn't a studio camera, unless you want it to be. Sony doesn't make an only studio camera, LOL

Fyi I have owned Sony A6500, A7RII, A7RIII, A7III, A9 and currently own A7RIV, A1, A7SIII. I use all my gear for all types and subjects of photography and make my living with them I dont baby them at all, and they have never let me down. Certainly as useful, and reliable as all the pro Nikon, Canon and Leica gear I have owned and used over the past more than four decades.

Cheers and best to you.

The R5 is exactly the same category as the a7R4.
So the comparison is apples to apples.
are is not a studio camera and was never marketed as such.

All impressionistic innuendo--this guy does not offer a single piece of evidence to support his silly claims. It comes down to him not liking how the buttons are placed and how they work. He looks like a guy sitting at a piano who does not know how to play it.

I have used Sony gear for five years on four continents under all climactic and environmental conditions--rain, snow, beach, desert, tropical forests, you name it. I have dropped my equipment and have fallen with it. All of it still works perfectly fine. Maybe I should make a video too.

Some people switch gear all the time and monetize it with videos like this one. The very definition of clickbait.

Thanks--I got a real job that pays the bills. I have no need to bamboozle others.

Clearly, you don't know much about "this guy" (Nick Page)"

He is a great landscape photographer. Which apparently does not keep him from doing cheesy clickbait videos.

I'm not sure why you refer to him as doing "cheesy clickbait videos". I didn't see it that way. I saw him giving a synopsis of his experience with Sony cameras. I suppose if you're a Sony fanboy you might take offense at his comments. I'm fortunate in that I own every major brand of camera so I can pick and choose which videos I'm offended by.

"Goodbye Sony" is a total clickbait title, intended to draw clicks from anti-Sony folks and fanboys of other brands.

Nick isn't the only youtuber to do this. Tony & Chelsea Northrup and Jared Polin (Fro-Knows) are masters of the click bait titles on youtube. The more clicks, the more money they all make from Youtube.

I have owned gear from all major makers in my long career and consider myself a fanboy of them all, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Leica and more. No videos about gear can offend me, so no offense taken. I made my points directly to Nick in my comments to him.

Cheers and best to you.

And you are an expert with personal first hand knowledge.
Or are you pissed that he is not worshipping Sony like you do.
