Yes, I remember precisely where I was and what I was doing that day.

Was a 20yr old Lance Corporal stationed at El Toro Marine Air Station --
Hooked-up a couple of my Teletypes to receive all the shocking bad news from the Associated Press & United Press International --
A truly sad day

And I was an AO2, stationed at NAS Brunswick, Maine. (Both it and MCAS El Toro are now gone.) I was out with the Chief doing magazine inspections. We got back to the shop and, as we entered, we immediately noted that the entire ordnance crew was sitting and watching television. The Chief said, "Hey, what's going on? Don't you have any work to do?" C.P. Wolfe, an Airman, immediately turned around and said, "Shhhhh, Kennedy's been shot." The Chief looked like he'd been punched between the eyes, was quiet for a bit, then said, "Well, sh*t, as you were." and went into his office. Five minutes later, the Chief came out of his office and told us to go to our quarters; our work day was over.

What followed was the darkest weekend I can remember,

I was in 10th grade, school let out early, both of my parents worked, Dad said they’d be home as soon as they could, the following days were a blur, I watched Lee Harvey Oswald get shot and k**led.

Just me ----- in almost 95 years, now, the ONLY day for which I remember where I was, and what I was doing, was the day of Don Larsen's World Series perfect game. I was working - but we were listening to the game - in the Research Lab at Products Research and Chemical Corporation in Burbank, California. I can't tell you the day or date unless I look it up. Anything else, I may have remembered (the details) for a few days! I have (and always have had) an excellent memory, just not bogged down with a lot of extraneous information (such as prior addresses and phone numbers). When I move to a new location, I develop an entirely new (very minimal) set of friends, and that's always been the case - and that's the way I like it!

I was a high school freshman and attending the pep rally for the Thanksgiving football game when the Principal interrupted the festivities with an announcement about what happened. There was stunned silence except from a member of the Young Republicans Club who stood up and cheered.

He got in big trouble and was made to apologize to the entire school during the morning announcements when we returned from the holiday break.

I’d returned home after romping around outside as we usually did after school when the news came of his assassination and consumed the radio and tv. It was strange, unthinkable and otherworldly as we watched the following week unfold. America was never again to be the same safe, secure and noble country it had been.

I was a senior in HS and the news came over the PA system. The school closed and then everyone was glued to our b&w tvs for days.

I always wonder how different the US might be if he wasn't k**led.
