Fantastic set of images !!
Wonderful set of photos, Mark. Beautifully done. Loved the detail you captured in the Pagoda images. Thanks for kicking the set off with a photo of Gail, beautiful.
The last photo looks more like it did in 1968, when I was there. Thanks for posting the history of the city.
Excellent as always Mark.
Thank for the write up and nice photos.
Terrific history and photos Doc!

Trip Itinerary:
Another interesting tour which I enjoyed so much, mark. Good shots and info!
Good history. My son spent a month over there and had a good experience.
Both the narrative and the photos are interesting--thanks for posting these, Mark.
Tradition is good Mike as are these images.
Again, a nice narrative and pictures.
I spent 3 months (in 1966) there during my year in Vietnam. At that time Tan Son Nuat was an air base, where I worked those 3 months. Fighting wasn’t too bad in the local area during my time there, although the night before I arrived a mortar hit the barracks I was supposed to be housed in. Then as our plane was taking off, as we were leaving, mortars hit behind us.
Several times I took a meal break and sat high on the largest hangar on base and watched some of the war. Could see the entire mission of A1Es (old prop planes)… they took off, hard left turn, dropped bombs in the nearest hills, hard left and landed.
Before going to Tan Son Nuat, I had carried an M-16 24/7. On returning to that home base I stored the M-16 for emergency use only and returned to the technical work that was my specialty in the Air Force.

Fascinating and well shot series, Mark. It’s always a pleasure to “travel” with you. 😀
