This Shepherd belongs to a friend in the Village where we live. She's the most beautiful friendly dog. Sadly she has some pretty bad spinal injuries and pretty much has to drag her back legs when she walks.
John has had her checked out and she's not in any pain which is great.
She still loves her walks though and somehow still manages. If I'm in our garage with the roller door up or out the front she always runs over to great me and loves a good cuddle and a scratch.
She always makes me think of the beautiful shepherd Lorraine and I had many years ago...still breaks my heart when I think of our Harry.

Elsa is a beautiful girl!! Has your friend considered the doggie wheel chairs to help her get around?
Harry was gorgeous!! Shepherds are great dogs!! I always wanted one but I found Akitas and fell in love with the breed so I had several of those. I've considered getting another dog since my Golden Retriever crossed Rainbow Bridge in February but just haven't made the decision. A shepherd could be a possibility if I can find one who will understand that in this house....Cats rule!
Please give Elsa hugs and kisses from me!!

Thanks Dodie, John thinks that while she's still able to walk he won't change things...to see her walk, she obviously doesn't suffer in any way despite looking awkward.
Nice shots of a beautiful dog. Congrats, Ron.
Never met an ugly dog. People on the other hand?
Nice pet portraits, Ron. My brother had a Shepherd. Dumbest dog he ever had but the most friendly and lovable one he ever had, too.
Beautiful set, Ron! Our male drags his rear feet and has to wear protective gear. We also had a great old shepherd when our youngest was still home.
