Sneferu (2575-2465 BC)
The Red Pyramid
A basic rule of thumb practiced by Egyptian Rulers is that if you died before completing your burial project the next ruler would NOT complete your structure. Sneferu lived long this was his third completed Pyramid - The Meidum, The Bent, and now the Red. It is said that the outer covering of pure white Tura limestone was stripped from this Pyramid & used during the Middle Ages to build the City of Cairo. The 344 Ft tall Red Pyramids' angle of assent is exactly the same as was used to repair the Bent Pyramid. Sneferu's son Khufu also used the same angle of ascent for his Pyramid -
The Great Pyramid of Giza.
Are the benches there to rest or worship ? I am envious of your visit๐๐๐คฉ๐บ๐ธ
Thanks for giving the shots a Look-see -- To say the least ---- A fun place to visit
Working on the Great Pyramid Giza complex -- Trying to edit out the "usual" -- Hoping to locate & send out, if possible, more "Non-Traditional" looking photos of this over-the-top tourist-concentrated place!
Thanks for the kind words

Neat set. Amazing what they built several thousand years ago.
Fascinating. The modern bench appears in the midst of ancient Egypt and just sits there. Seems out of place to me!
