This is a monument of Imre Nagy, the Prime Minister who together with the vast majority of Hungarians revolted in 1956 against rule by the USSR. Two years after the failed Hungarian revolution, Nagy was executed on charges of treason.

I like the statue and its pose – looking out over his city. I also like that it is silhouetted, just a shape against the sunlit city – what he represented was more important than any details of the person.
Finally, the people walking in the picture indicate that the rebellion came to fruition, even if it took another four decades.

Beautifully done, both composition and presentation. The texture and color palette of the bridge decking in the foreground was a wonderful element of the photo.
