New Release of Negative Lab Pro film conversion software for camera scanning and positive scanner scans of negatives
I just got an email from Nate at Negative Lab Pro. He has released a bug fix/update/speedup version 2.4 of his negative-to-positive conversion software that works with both scanner images and raw images from digital cameras.
I have used Negative Lab Pro, the plug-in for Adobe Lightroom Classic 12 and Adobe Lightroom (obsolete standard version 6.14), for a couple of years. It is one of those tools that is a 'sine qua non' (Latin: "without which, not") of camera scanning.
This is a free upgrade to the program that originally cost $99. A free trial for 12 images is available for download at Nate's site, linked below.
This version doubles the speed, improves color accuracy, fixes bugs (conflicts with Lightroom Classic 12) and adds a bunch of interface improvements.
The better news is that he's almost done writing Version 3.0, which will be a $49 paid upgrade for those of us who purchased NLP before October 1.

Here is a sample camera scan of a negative I made in 1978 on Fujicolor 200 35mm film. This is a fresh conversion using NLP version 2.4.

Outstanding. I have to try this on the many negatives I've photographed RAW.

It makes tonal and color adjustments very easy, provided you know the ropes. I've camera scanned thousands of negatives using NLP version 2.0 through 2.3, and it just keeps getting better and better.
