Yes, I thought so. Thanks for clarification.

Yet does not the production itself involve recording action scenes? Was the shooting not recorded because only a dry run? I suppose a recording did occur, but the shooting footage has become evidence of a serious crime, not for release until later in the criminal proceedings.

As well, others may've witnessed the shooting but have to hold their tongue by a gag order of the court. Impatient news media workers, however, subsist on tidbits that titillate the public interest. AB himself distracts from his k*****g of another by his civil lawsuits against individuals somehow associated with the movie production.

We shall see how this drama goes.

Don't know about the Rust set, but I do know that on most TV show and movie sets, it's a major no no to record any part of the production or set without explicit permission--photo, video, and audio. Typically, everyone on the production has to sign NDA's before they can even work on it. Most IATSE locals also have rules against members recording any part of an active production they are working on.

OK, I understand all that. Confidentiality and control of material that could be sold for profit. Thank you.

From what I understand, this was a rehearsal of what was going to be filmed. Does this mean there would be no recording by the primary scene camera? The scene would have been viewable by the cinematographer “on-screen”, would there be no recording of this? It seems strange no record would exist, because a cinematographer/director might wish to be able to view the action for comparison later.
Just wondering.

From what I remember, the only time they are actually recording footage is when they set scene with a time stamp. The producer and cinematographer can preview scenes without actually recording. I've worked on both film and digital productions, but as Audio. Film they pretty much never shoot beyond the shot because of cost. But digital is also usually limited as there are costs involved there as well in additional culling and edit.

Makes sense. Thank you for the explanation.

It would have been nice if there HAD been a recording.
Currently there is the customary confusion about who did what to whom.

The only specifics to date are:
A. There was a single-action Army replica being used on set.
B. The gun was discharged while being pointed at the cinematographer by Mr.Baldwin.

And in my opinion: The gun should have been modified to make it non-functional, specifically, it should have been: 1. incapable of chambering a live round.
2. Incapable of detonating a live round, or
3. the barrel should have been blocked to prevent a bullet traveling through the barrel.
(Which might of resulted in a gun “exploding” in someones hand — but no loss of life).

This onlooker awaits the report of the New Mexico authorities investigating the involvement of Alec Baldwin for his accidental shooting and k*****g of another on a movie set.

His degree of culpability and liability for his involvement in this matter will become known to the public soon enough.

According to news channel KRQE (Albuquerque), the multi-page report has now been released.

The police report runs to 540 pages long. I decline to read it all. Others will read it and summarize its content for public consumption.
