Wouldn't mind parking my floating beach chair in that runoff by the fall to help this shot be even more magnificent I really love the second with the dazzling motion effect and the whirling colors ✨✨✨✨✨ I lost my balance looking at the third...

I have this in color somewhere. It is the burning of the Heidelberg Castle in Germany. It was done initially to commemorate the attack on the castle but they found that it also drew a lot of tourists so they did it more than once a year. I took this photo at 13 yrs old. You climb up a hill before dark, set the camera on a tripod, and wait. The lights on the castle are red flares (exp about 30 sec). The bridge is white prosperous (about 10 sec). Then you hope to get a couple of fireworks in the sky. The shutter is your hand over the lens with the camera (Leica IIIF) set to bulb. You hope someone doesn't bump your camera which was done several different times I attempted the shot.

p.10 WOW, Tim - and I can't believe you hand held them

Yep, I'm too old (and lazy) to carry a tripod around the forest...lol.
Besides, there are always tons of trees to lean against.

Fireworks "shower" with a longer exposure.

That's a very nice collection of fireworks photos, Pat. So many entries so far have shown a great imagination, too. I do have a small number of fireworks that I made with a Canon digital elf model, in 2014. I took all of them one evening using the auto setting, handheld, just as guesswork and a few came out pretty good. For all the ones I can get data on, the settings were: 1 sec at f3, but ISO is unknown.

These are great, Tony! Like I told Pat, I can never get the vibrant colors you two have captured!

I once drove past a duck farm outside of Laporte, IN. A sign on the gate said "Duck manure for sale." Another sign by it said "Help wanted." I didn't have to guess what whomever they hired would be doing.

Probably was a crappy job...

Thanks again, Joe, and feel free to "jump in."

p.13 These are a wonderful post, Tony. One of the things I like about the images is the "ghost" effect of the people in the foreground.

Thanks Pat. I also thought that added just a little something to the image.

Those came out great. The timing seems to work quite well for the water speed.
