It has always taken a long time to count v**es. But e******n science has made many races very close, and they can't be called early, so it takes a long time.

I see nothing magic about quick results.
It is paramount that anyone want to v**e gets the chance and all v**es are properly county.. much more important than speed

It is due to the close nature of so many contests.

Seats are being decided by historically small margins. When the margins are decisive we don't have to wait for all the mail in and provisional b****ts to be processed. The e******ns are generally over before those v**es get processed.

When seats are being decided by hundreds or a couple of thousand v**es...every v**e counts. And we have to wait.

But come on Blurry, you already know this...

Not sure what this has to do with the length of time 2-3 states are behind in counts from all other states that finished their counts.

Of course you don't understand...

Relax, we don't expect much!

Just quietly, the other states are still counting all those pain in the ass provisional b****ts...,but the winner will not change even if 100% of those hand tally b****ts go to the underdog...so their e******n is over for practical purposes.

Just a couple of days ago Arizona still had around 600,000 b****ts to count, most all other states had all their b****ts counted including Florida. Tell me again what I am not understanding.

Different rules for different states. Why, it seems like just yesterday when Republicans were hollering about "states rights" and v****g against legislation to protect v****g rights nationally. "Let the states decide!!" was the cry. Today it is "how come different states have different procedures for counting v**es?"

It matters to the v**ers in those states as it should with everyone, does not build confidence.

No, the argument is why do they have procedures that take so long, has nothing to do with having the same procedures. Also has nothing to do with states rights in respect to how you worded it.

Always. The 1876 p**********l e******n took months to decide. Recounts are not unusual in close races. You are confusing races being called with all of the v**es being counted. Those are two different things. Many races were called quickly this time - many races in Florida and Texas for example - but many other races are very close. All of you need to do is glance at a TV once in a while and you will notice there are races marked "too early" or "too close" - after every e******n.

You are confusing counting the v**es with calling the races. Many of the races were called quickly, before all of the v**es were counted, as always. Many were not able to be called because they are too close. And, yes, there are different rules in different states, and some states take longer.

This is pretty basic stuff, nothing new, and there is no rational basis for any controversy.

No you are wrong, you are confusing fiction over facts. If you watch the e******n process you will see the data on how many v**es have been tallied in percentages ON the night of the e******n, Florida had 99% of their b****ts tallied on the same night, Arizona STILL has about 26% of the total b****ts uncounted. Has NOTHING to do with how close the results are.
