Warning Capture One Users

I just learned the hard way that by going to the latest Mac OS 13.0.1 my Capture One 22 software will crash at start-up effectively preventing me from doing any digital photography editing. So far, my options are to take my computer to the Apple Store and have them degrade my OS to the previous version or to purchase an upgrade of Capture One. My last Capture One upgrade was a year ago, so I’m trying to find out if I qualify for a reduced price upgrade from the software company.

I am using C1 ver 22 build 15.3.1.15 with my MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.0.1 and have not had any problems.

Thanks jbat. I am running CO 22 on an iMac Pro desktop when I upgraded to the Mac OS 13.0.1 and the problem immediately began. Either my computer system is somehow lacking in the proper requirements to run the new Mac software which seems odd (my other programs all seem to work), or the problem lays with Capture One. Not sure yet, but I know my computer sent a Report of the crash to Apple. While I’m waiting to hear from Capture One I’ll give Apple a call and see what they have to say. The problem seems to be a compatibility issue between CO22 and OS13.0.1 I’m too old to become a tech Guru-I’d rather be taking and editing photographs.

I am running on a brand new MacBook Pro 16" laptop. Maybe that makes a difference but you would think that using the same Ventura software we would get the same results but I am not a computer guru either. Good luck on getting to the bottom of it. It can drive us crazy with these type of problems.

Unfortunately I can't help solve the problem except to say I'm running OS 13.0.1 and have no problems starting up Capture one 22 build 15.7.2.11 although I have to admit I don't use it much; I rely mostly on LR. Good luck. Oh, I should add that it's an M1 MAC.

I have an iMac Pro desktop (2017) that seems to be running Ventura Mac OS 13 and all my other software just fine. Capture One 22 was running fine on the prior Mac OS 12, but the hiccup occurred with the installation of Mac OS 13. I’ll have it sorted out soon enough.

I had the same problem. Solved by doing a fresh install of Ventura and Capture One. Time consuming but worked like a charm.

You have to upgrade software. It's the Law (of retail consumerism).

I did finally get the issue sorted out, but it took a drive to an Apple Store, the techs on-line were not able to figure it out. At the Apple Store after I explained what had happened the tech was scratching his head. My computer was capable of running Ventura. I remembered Bonjac on UHH saying he had a similar problem, but corrected it by doing a Clean Install of their Photo Editing Software AFTER the OS upgrade. As it turned out that was good advice. We tried it and it worked. The OS upgrade caused a problem that was rectified by reinstalling the affected programs. It sounds easy enough to fix, but it’s farther into the weeds than I’m comfortable going on my own.
Thanks Bonjac! The upgrading process took 2 hours at the Apple Store, but I wasn’t charged anything.
