I have tinnitus, too and some assorted frequency problems, too (flight training in 152s w/out headphones?, mowing a 2 1/2 acre yard?, concerts or UPS work?) but I still wanted an upgrade. Too bad Medicaid doesn't cover hearing aids. Now I need to buy some speaker stands to put them on and move my bookcases..hummpfff!
Same with me plus loss due to target shooting without ear protection (hey, it was the 60’s when we didn’t have seat belts, either). I purchased JBLs because they had the best high frequency response of any speakers and partially made up for my handicap. My friends preferred the “rich” sound of Bose and Bozak so I turned the JBL’s treble down when they came over.
