I love the straps at journey camera. A great variety so be sure you know what you’re selecting.

I see we're both fans of Peak Design products. I also note that Lance's opening post indicates he is seeking a "pro" strap. I assume from this that he has a !arge, heavy camera. If my assumption is correct, I wouldn't recommend the Slide Light.

That may be the case, but we don't know what camera he has or what lenses he is using. The term "pro" strap can mean different things to different people. If, for instance, he is using the Leica M11 rangefinder with a Summilux 28mm f/1.4 lens with a combined price of of almost $17000 and which is physically small with a combined weight of only 34oz, he might be happiest with the Peak Design Slide Light or Leash. I use the Leash with my Nikon Z fc, Smallrig L bracket grip designed for it, and my TTAritsan 50mm f/1.2 with a total weight of over 28oz. It is a great combo. I also own a Slide Light but I am much happier using the far more compact and smaller profile Lease with this combo. As I said, it depends what he is shooting and what he means by Pro.

My problem with Peak Design straps is the gripper part of the strap is on the outside part of the strap. My shoulder’s slope and the strap just easily slides off my shoulder.

I think you may be missing the point of the Peak Design Slide straps. They are intended for cross body use and are purposely slick so they slide easily allowing your camera to be brought quickly to you eye for shooting. They are not designed for primary use as shoulder straps. When there is an occasional need to carry the camera on a shoulder the user is supposed to temporarily flip the grip area of the strap so it is face down on your shoulder for traction. If the grip was always face down the strap would fail at its primary purpose, sliding. Anyone primarily needing a shoulder strap will probably not be satisfied with Peak Design slide straps.

Lance Smith I'm so happy you've decided on an vendor and strap... Never an easy choice.
In my photographic journey I've dynamically allocated as my client's needs predicated.

Initially I choose the OpTech "classic" with de-attachable center padding since my work was divided between studio and location. However in time with my clients demanding higher IQ I migrated to the Back Rapid "Classic" which worked extremely well with my ~ 1550 + gram AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Nikkor.
btw hanging that optic on a Nikon D3x around my neck was totally out of the question.

However I'm now tethered to studio assignments only so I've again migrated to wrist straps on all my camera bodies. They work exceptionally well and since I'm on a Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal for my ultra heavy glass this wrist strips have become a viable scenario.

Bottom Line? Please keep an open mind on your camera support systems as you progress on your photographic journey. You may be surprised at how quickly your needs may evolve (at least this has been my experience).

All the best on your journey Lance

Hello. I know this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread. I just need a couple of links for pro camera straps that you guys like. Thank You

Bang for the buck, you can't beat the Op/Tech straps. I like the one that is a continuous loop. You can attach it to a camera with just one attachment or what I prefer is attaching one link to the camera and a second one to an L bracket. This strap will allow you to go over your left shoulder and across your body so the camera hangs on your right side. I use this on one camera and I wanted to also mount one over my right shoulder so a second camera would hang on my left side. To accomplish this they make a "gender changer" so the strap hangs correctly. The strap was around 22.00 and the gender changer was around 6.00. These straps are very versatile in that the links that attach to the loop strap can be disconnected, leaving only a couple of inches of the mechanism attached to the camera. This can come in handy when mounting on a tripod and you can also attach a wrist strap to this connection. There are videos about the use of these straps. I would suggest going to the website of Op/Tech.com, not just searching through B&H or Amazon. That is where you will get the videos.

I've tried a bunch of them...still have quite a few ...somewhere.

Ended up with a Luma strap...overbuilt with a great shoulder pad.

Military grade QD attachment ...easy peasy.

Using it for 2 years now...still like brand new...overbuilt.

I use Peak Design, OpTech and Black Rapid camera straps. All are excellent. Check out the feature in their various models and then decide which is best for you. In OpTech I use the Pro model. Slide in PD. Sport in BR.

I've owned black rapid straps and they are great products. Whether they would work for the OP really depends on the camera and lenses he uses and how he likes to shoot. For instance if he is using a mirrorless camera like the Fujifilm X-T4 or similar, those straps maybe too heavy and bulky. It would have been useful if the OP had indicated exactly what equipment he wanted to use with a "pro" quality strap and his carrying preferences. Perhaps he shared that information later in thus thread, but without it, it is really difficult to make it a useful suggestion.
