I'm sure you know the word "party" has several meanings including the one that references "having a good time," but it also refers to a group of people with a common goal or destination. EX: Democrat Party, Republican Party, Donner Party (32 members of the Donner & Reed families, etc.). Take care & ...

Little known fact...
They had hired a drifter at the last minute who went by the name of Chuck (no last name).
He drove the food wagon for them.
Him being the quintessential odd man out...he was the first person that was eaten.
The name stuck... chuck wagon.
