Immature Bald Eagle?

I took these two photos in August along Lake Erie at Barcelona, NY. The bird appears to be an immature bald eagle. Am I correct?

You are very welcome! I've spent a lot of time in Alaska over the last 6-8 years. I have a brother who lives there full time. LOVE Alaska, but the winters are not my cup of tea! I guess I'll spend my life going back and forth!

My two favorite months in Alaska are October and February. I will be up there in Feb/March for about 5-6 weeks.

Thank you for the comment. I was trying out my new OM-1 with the Olympus 100-400. Still have a lot to learn about BIF but the OM-1 makes it less frustrating than the E-M1iii.

?? I'll go with October, but February is the coldest month. And it seems like the darkest as well! Many Alaskans save up their money and go sun seeking in February!
