Two questions about light balance in lightroom. What do I do in Lightroom to make a raw photo appear as if it were shot with an orange filter? Can I make a raw photo appear as if it were illuminated with ultraviolet light? If so how?

Fiddle with the WB settings and adjust temperature and tint until you get the effect you like. Then save as a preset.

LR has B&W presets, including Lightroom B&W Filter Presets / Orange Filter. You can find them under Presets in the Develop module or in the Quick Develop / Saved Preset dropdown of the Library Module.

Well, I enjoy seeing what I can do with less sophisticated software. So, I went into action with my usual software, IrfanView.

In the first two examples I adjusted only the color temperature (white balance). The first one at 400 K0 gave an orange color while the second one at 9000 K gave a purplish-blue color.

So, I used the 9000 K image and lover the contrast, upped the gamma, added a lot of green, and subtracted some red with an increase in saturation. Does the fourth one look like it was taken under water? Maybe. --Richard
