Have you ever spent all day trying to find good stuff to shoot only to find that when you got back to your hotel room the view out of the window gave you one of the better shots of the day? Here are two of mine, both from the west coast of Scotland.

Feel free to post your own.

I guess the lesson is: Always start with the place that is your base of operations ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'll grant that only one of the attached was shot through a hotel window (the others were shot out the windows of an inn, so I hope they still qualify), and that three of the four may arguably be more about the inside than they are about the outside, but all were shot at places I've stayed. Can't complain about what I'd found to shoot earlier, before I'd gone inside though. At least I sure liked it.

Were these taken with your view camera? It looks like they are all scenes provided by the hotel/inn. I think we all deserve to have an easy shot come our way from time to time. Thanks for posting.

The first, second and fourth were shot on full-frame digital, the third is a 35mm film image scanned. I had shot similar --or virtually the same as in the case of #4 (though with a 30- or however many years hiatus in between)-- shots in b&w with 4x5 and/or 5x7 large format years ago, but scans/finals of those weren't readily at hand, so I just posted the ones I did.
