I used to question that idea but having just recently purchases a Fujifilm x-T4 I am now reconsidering that idea. I can now get photographs that were impossible to get before. Improvements in technology is something we should all grasp. They are cleaner, sharper, easier, with better color saturation. The big draw back is learning/mastering all of the innuendos.
Yup, continued improvements in the newer models, great, eh?
Myths are wonderful tools, suggesting talent and effort can overcome the lack of superior cameras.

The new technology is not a myth. It adds many wanted and needed items to the list. I USED TO SHOT PHOTOS WITHOUT AUTOFOCUS, WOULD I GO BACK NOT ON YOUR LIFE. Eye autofocus is so grand.
We each have three tools at our disposal: desire, effort and a camera. Shouldn't you buy the best camera?

The next generation AI will be even more impressive.
Just stick the camera up in the air, aim out there, and press the shutter.
The camera will take care of zooming and best subject placement.
The more stuff the camera does that I don't have to worry or think about the better.....
Brings new meaning to "Point-n-Shoot".
No one needs to think anymore.
The manufacturers will just tell us what we need.
Oh, wait......
Experience Talent & Luck are great equalizers.
And the best equipment changes the game.

There are no secrets to success in photography. You need the best equipment to create the best images.
That is not true. The best doesn't always work. Sometimes the "Best" has too many things that you don't need.
Do you need 45 MP, and 11fps?

To be better than everyone else with 30MP and 9 fps, or a phone, yes I sure do, along with all winners.
A good craftsman never blames his equipment.
It's the poor craftsman who uses inferior tools.
