Ever thought about dropping a V8 in your MG? That's exactly what Jim Miller did. A beautiful car.

Beautiful car. WOW, swap for a V8 & loose weight in the process! Would love to drive it.

I bet that thing hauls with a V8 in it! Good thing he lowered the center of gravity a couple of inches.

I would love to drive it also KillroyII. The weight loss is pretty amazing! Glad you liked the image and story.

What I'm wondering is: When you start the engine, which starts turning, the engine or the car?

MG actually produced a MGB with a V-8 for a brief period time. The engine was from Range Rover who had bought it from GM if my memory is correct.

My brother has done many such conversions. He specialized in Just British Cars, the name of his shop until he retired.

My little brothers rode just like a stock MG, he did use a stock Range Rover FI engine and he gave the early 5.0 Mustangs a headache!!

I have heard from a couple of unrelated MG whisperers that a swap with that era Buick engine is somewhat common to get an automatic transmission. The problem is the transmission tunnel has to be widened cutting into the already tight foot room. And it doesn’t exhibit the signature oil leakage. I have never actually seen one, however.
