Here are some shots with the iPhone 14 Pro.
Taken outside Gettysburg, PA, it's at a pond that I visit every fall. Sometimes good, sometimes nothing. It's a crap shoot.
All hand held.
I have to reiterate that although I am pleased with the images with the iPhone 14 Pro, like all phones, using them as a camera it presents a challenge with the viewfinder since the sun is mostly behind you. In some shots I was taking today, I was seeking a shady spot to view.

Great shots duke. The iphone takes great photos. Sharp as a tack. They make great vacation shots for the album, but at 1600x1200 (4:3), they won't print very big.

I use an Android, Samsung, and the camera is ok, but not as good as the iphone.

Very nice shots of the pond and the geese. The 14Pro does a very good job. The lens shines here, and the colors are really nice.

Thanks Frankraney,

The files from the iPhone 14 pro have a file size of 4032 x 3024 px creating a 34.9M file. I would not hesitate to try and print a 24x36 with the file.

Wow, they are getting bigger sensors. I did not know that. Least I heard they were 3600x1200 I think. Isn't 4032x3024 more like 12.2 mp.

When I opened it in Photoshop, that’s what it showed. That was a file size of 56” x 42” at 72 dpi.

There is also a RAW setting which I have not tried yet.

A print that big has a diagonal of 70 inches and should be viewed at about 8-10 feet. I don't think 72 ppi would be enough?

Have you done one? If be curious as to how it looked.

re: have you done one?

No, not yet, just got the phone and this is my first "workout" with it.

but I used to print 24x36 all the time with my D3 and it was only 24M.

Nice set the iPhone 14 Pro Max does a nice job. I have the iPhone 14 I had a discussion with a friend on how shots would look on a 20 x30 size the size I use for wall-worthy photos.

Coolhanduke, I did a test and shot in raw, then exported the file into Lightroom. I did my usual upload to Walgreen's photo where I usually have enlargements done on wood. This time around I had it printed on paper for $16 vs wood. Based on the results I would not hesitate to order a 20x30 photo taken with the iPhone 14 on wood for hanging on a wall. The bottom line though is if I'm looking to use a photo for the wall I would use my Canon R6.

I hear you.

just to clarify, I do have the pro but not the max. I didn't see the need for me to have a bigger screen.

I have since sold my Epson wide format printer and pretty much retired from that end of things. if I did print something that large, I don't know what I would do with it. I have a pie of metal prints I still need to sell.
But I may pick one someday and have it printed 24x36 to satisfy my curiosity.

Like you, I would normally use my D850 or Z9.

The iPhone is satisfying my need for taking snapshots of things I will never enlarge to try and sell.

I'm getting very good results printing 16x24 IPhone images.

steveo52 br I hear you. br br just to clarify, I ... (show quote)

Thanks for the clarification Coolhanduke. I'm on the same page as you I have a large print but it's just sits in the packaging once I took a look at it. Printing the photo out was just out of curiosity. If you do have a 24x36 print made I'd like to hear how it looks.
