I ordered a cup with the most beautiful egret photo I have ever seen on it (from a UHH member) and USPS sent it to a to Birmingham Al. (one hour south of me), then to MY town, then to Attalla Al. (3 miles NE of me), then to TEXAS and back to me. It's OK. I was in no hurry. Got it to give for a gift but when I saw it, I decided it has a home right here!!!
Sometimes they are to good. Still getting mail for ex-wife even after I moved to another state.

Yep. We lived in Tn when my husband passed away 3 1/2 years ago. After he passed, I moved to Al and I get mail for him down here a few times every week.

My car loan office waits until about 14 days before it's due, to send my monthly loan invoice. If I don't mail payment the same day, the post office takes about 10 days to deliver it and the car loan office sometimes lets it sit in their in-basket another 4 days making it a late payment...and charging me a late fee.
Yes, I've heard of electronic payment. I limit the number of places that have my email address since I've already received several notices that other companies have been hacked, with my and several thousand other addresses no doubt ending up in a dark web mailing list.

my bank's online bill pay system doesn't require that recipients have my e-mail address.
USPS sometimes is excellent. I bought some stuff from an UHH member. He shipped it out on the 26th and I got it on the 27th. And it's a 2 days service.
The USPS has actually made itself inefficient. Because they have closed down some sorting centers or distribution centers as a savings attempt or to reduce employee numbers or any of other reasons, the delivery has slowed i many regions. An example, I live in a semi rural area about an hour and half drive from Erie PA. Recently my wife returned a clothing item for a refund to a company wose return center is 45 miles from us, about midpoint to Erie. The package went from us to Rochester, NY, then to a city south of Cleveland, OH, then to the returns center down the road. The return package traveled for three days when it could have taken less than an hour to deliver directly.

How often are people sending letters to banks and vice versa? Heard of electronic communications?
Come to the US and you'll find out.
