Chinese 9 volt battery lasted 15 years.
I couldn't believe a Chinese 9-volt battery lasted that long. It was used for the garage opener installed in 2007.
The shocker of it was the price of a new one. Even car batteries are out of site.
Crazy. Lol. Yes I had to pay over 200.00 for a new battery for my motorcycle. When I bought it 5 years ago it was less than a hundred.

I just last week bought a new battery for my MazdaSpeed at a Palm Springs dealership (the only place that had one) for nearly $300. Special size batteries cost more to manufacture these days. Plus there’s the whole supply issues problem made worse by the labor shortage. The last time I bought a battery for that car it was half the price.

Yep I guess we just have to pony up. Lol. Nice ride you have in the Mazda Speed.

Thanks for the article. Our daughter had an early 90s that she thought she would make a drift car out of. I talked her out of that but she sold it to a friend before I even knew it was for sale. Lol. Now she drifts a Lexus. Her and her husband are pretty good at it and it's cool to watch them I have a 94 325i convertible that I tweaked just for the back roads. It is a very good handling car with decent manners. I also have a 80 Corvette that has been built to handle. 550 hp small block lowered an inch. Bumped up the spring pressure in both front and rear. 3:73 gears 5 speed, poly bushings and adjustable sway bars. It's downfall is the ladder style frame and the heavy nose. If you put it a hard and I mean hard corner the frame will flex and change the suspension geometry. But there is no way to stop that without truly changing the frame style. It's my wife's now. It's cool and cute but the BMW will walk the dog with it on the road course or back roads. I got tired of the dragstrip fast when I was young and started with an mg after that. Not real fast but loads of fun until I understood how to build a curve buster. Lol Not near as cool as your's. Lol. Congratulations on owning a neat and fun rarity!!!

Thanks, I’ve been storing it in my garage in Palm Springs for the last 8 years and just a few weeks ago decided to start driving it again. Sooo much fun to drive!

I'll bet!! Don't let it collect dust and become a trophy. Drive her she was made for it and loves you for it. We sold our 37 Chevy when it started to collect dust. You have an amazingly beautiful and rare piece of history. Drive her!!!!!! But not in the rain. Lol lol. To much cleaning after that. Lol
Try Walmart next time , a average car battery is around $ 100 .nothing wrong with them .there was a limited coverage Chinese batteries with 1 yr warranty for $ 50 . A car dealer will at least double the cost , plus installation to match .Never used to be like that .

Just be happy you aren't replacing a Tesla battery!

Funny; I've put several 12-Volt batteries in four different Priuses since 2012. I've paid around $220 for each of them, after core returns. Meanwhile, replacement NEW NiMH high voltage battery prices have come down by 1/3 to 1/2, due to competition from used battery rebuilders and new Lithium battery providers like Nexcell.
Have you tried Batteries Plus? They have had some old/odd/unusual batteries that I needed, and at good prices, too.
