Here's my pic.
It's been really smoky in western WA State for the last month (?) It's cleared up finally since we got some rain. This picture was taken on the 19th when it was very, very smoky. That morning, the thick smoke caused the sun to be colorful.

Outstanding!

They're ALL worthy of framing - simply beautiful!!

Thank you Sue. I have someone that wants a 20X30 metal print of the one that has the gold reflections. I'm anxious to see how that turns out.

Free Sunday rodeo images.

I don’t have a photo to share, but the rodeo images brought back a memory from a long time ago, 1961 when I was a young newspaper photographer, working my way through college.
I had never photographed a rodeo and was alongside the local commercial photographer in the areana when a brahma bull came charging into the areana (sp?) and charged us after throwing his rider.
I started to run, but got cut off by a safety rider whose job was to keep a bull from charging the thrown rider. My only option was to run for the areana fence which I did, out running the safety rider.
When I reached the six-foot high fence I threw my 35 MM Canon range finder camera over the fence as I lept for the top of the fence. A split second later the bull hit the fence brushing against my pants bottom. If I had been a little bit lower,I might not be walking today.
I was able to get a partial repair to my camera, but it was never quite the same.
The commercial photographer’s image of me hanging on the fence made Page one of our local newspaper the next morning.

Love your story Seabastes👍👍❗️ I haven’t had a close call like that unless you count the time my little brother shot me with my bow and arrow when I was teaching him how to use it.🥴🥴

Last week I went to West Virginia to specifically capture the Glade Creek Gristmill ( I have a thing for gristmills and had this one on my bucket list for the past three years ). I have several different views taken after sunset on Thursday evening and earlier in the morning just before the sun and with the sun backlighting the mill and eventually hitting the mill itself. I’ve included most of the best ones. If I get the time today , I’ll post a few other points of view. Watch the light change. The last one had a beautiful gold-reflection that I actually had to tone down. It is my fav. More later tonight. I hope!!

Pd. 4 Your "thing" for gristmills in obvious and you do them proud.
