More rain and flooding I've seen since moving here
Water was deep (well sorta)
Many residents were displaced
I really feel for those who have been affected by Ian. Takes so long to recover. Wish them a speedy recovery.
Horrible. And I should know. We in Louisiana took two hits just as bad both in the same year. No one really paid attention, though. It ain't Florida.
I was in it in Fort Myers... water inside my house after the patio doors exploded came up to almost 4 feet... property is about 600 feet from the south edge of the Caloosahatchee river 1/2 mile west of I75... that's about 20 miles inland from The Gulf. Lost 2 cars and just about everything in the house. I'll be working my way out of the mess for months. I've known the property for 52 years, never saw anything like Ian in all that time. Devastating is an understatement.
Looking at these pictures reminds me of what many in Houston and in other parts of texas went through during hurricane Harvey in August 2017. Some homes in my neighborhood still have not been repaired and are unoccupied. At least back then cars were available to buy to replace the thousands that were ruined by Harvey flood waters.
Not good! (But the photos are.)
Prayers for all who were impacted in any way.
Went thru Cat 4 Harvey a few years ago here in Rockport, I'm so sorry for all those affected by Ian and related flooding. It can be hard to believe, but it does get better faster than you might think.

Wow. Nature can be a real pain at times.
Hurricanes are not fun, have been thru several in my 74 years. Don't wish to see any more!
Prayers for Fort Meyers.
Don
Just terrible for all the people and their homes!
