Covid-19 gain-of-function research continues in the U.S.
Gain of function research is still being conducted, and is being funded by the NIH. Despite what highest-paid-U.S.-government-employee Dr. Anthony Fauci has previously testified.
The bottom line: Boston University researchers have developed a more potent Covid-19 variant.
They took the Omicron spike protein - which because of all its mutations made Omicron the most infectious Covid variant ever - and then grafted it onto the original wild-type strain of Covid-19.
This new "Frankenstein" variant of Covid had an 80% kill rate in mice, whereas the standard Omicron strain had a zero kill rate in a similar group of mice.
What could possibly go wrong here? And is this the best use of taxpayer dollars?
Gain of function research was supposedly banned from 2014 until 2017, when NIH decided to allow it
if the work was done using government funds. Did we know this?
The Boston U research paper was published just a few days ago and is available to those who wish to read it here:

Well at least you believe the plague actually happened --
And wasn't one of the possible origins of Covid escape from a lab?
