At or near peak colors in Southern Colorado

This weekend I drove (from New Mexico) to Durango, Ouray and Telluride specifically to try and get some Fall color shots. The only issue I had was that every half mile I saw something I had to photograph! Luckily I was alone (else my wife would have been complaining at all my stops). This is a trip I'd been planning for over a year - I wanted to get the fall colors at or near peak in this area. Here are a few examples.

Great images! Smart idea to leave your wife behind... but tell her you really missed her and can't wait to see her again... after you finish your road trip.

Beautiful set, Cyril! As much as I like the leaves, your bare aspens in reflection are my pick.

LOL! Yeah she likes my pictures but she gets impatient when I scouting locations to shoot. She tends to want to rush me.

That one was sort of a spur of the moment thing. Had pulled over to get some general landscape shots and saw that pond about a mile from where I saw stopped so decided to make a little hike to get close to it. I was glad the water was kind of still to give good reflection.

I imagine it was. I used a foliage map that lets you use a slider to pick diffferent dates and it tells you about when colors in any area of the US will be at peak. I opted to head up just about the time the colors were supposed to start peak.
