Driving through Custer SP and Wind Cave NP yesterday we encountered the coyote and his buddy the badger working together for a prairie dog meal. We’ve seen this relationship before (probably the same couple) where the badger tries to dig the prairie dog out of his hole while the coyote patiently waits at an alternative exit. They were unsuccessful while we watched but they were undaunted! We were also caught in a Big Horn Sheep jam on Custer SP Wildlife Loop Road. There were about 25 animals on the road including a large number of yearlings.

Superlative shots - and that bison reminds me of a big train waiting in the weeds for a takeoff 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎

Nice. My wife and I have been to Custer three times and had talked about going again this year before she became ill. She passed in August but the park will always hold great memories for me of our life together and for the times we visited there. Thank you for sharing.

Wow...you had a great day! I enjoyed all of your photos, but I particularly like the perspective of the bison photo.
