I don't normally make changes to others shots. But using ACDsee and not lightroom I changed the exposure by +1.32 and the attached is the result. I could not see noise but there is snow or sleet. Shooting 1 to 2 stops low with the D500 is common for many photographers when the lighting is low and then adjusting the exposure in post processing. Some reviews say the D500 noise is acceptable up to iso 4000 while others suggest staying below 2500.
I Like the shallow DOF that causes the eye to focus on the small player in the middle of the shot. Even at 1/1000 shutter there is some movement blur on the legs of the players in the background so a slow shutter would exacerbate the movement blur.

I think you have a great shot.

Noise is more likely to show up in underexposed images/areas.

What a zombie. 🧟
No matter how many times it gets knocked down it keeps getting back up again.

Great shot of the action, yet to the left, Number 12 is just standing there, waiting for a bus

Yes it is a night game. I thought the noise was pretty bad for the settings. Thank you

...when I had my D500 I wasn't in love with its noise factor at night under, usually bad, stadium lighting. That said, even with my D5 and/or Z9 I will reduce shutter in order to denoise the shots. I've had good success with a 500th which will give you a stop!
