Hello Everyone and thank you for stopping by and checking out this post.
Today my family and I have a friend that is leaving to the Army. He is on the airplane as I am typing this post. As a special tribute to him I would like you all to post a favorite photo so when he completes Basic Combat Training I can show him.
Let me tell you a little about our friend....
There was a young man that came from China a little over a year ago. He came to America to fulfill a dream..... To join our country's military force and serve our great nation, a nation he dreamed of becoming a part of.
When his family brought him to this country and left him behind, alone and with no one..... He figured it was time to pursue his dream. He started working meager jobs to survive and provide for himself because there was no one to turn to. He began to learn english on his own. He went to a recruiters office in California and made his first attempt at his dream but failed. He then received a job offer in Colorado working for tips in a local restaurant where he met his first true friend. His new friend happened to be a Disabled Army Veteran who knew the military system and knew he could help this young man pursue his dream. This Chinese American and his new friends started hanging around and his new friends started helping him with his dream. They became his new family and he loves them as they love him. So here is a tribute to a new friend that has become family to us.
We had some good times together
We learned things together
We walked a long road together
There is a destiny that begins somewhere
We were able to enjoy the beauty in life
so here is my favorite photo just for you!
Jfantasma you are a kind man and good friend.
I have so many favorites but the first thing that came to mind was something at home. After all, what is an American soldier fighting for if not the home land.
So here is my favorite from my morning shoot for Sean from China the new American soldier.
We had a horrible storm name Sandy blow into the east coast. She left alot of destruction in her path. This hydrangea bush right near my front porch was blowing sideways at one point when I was brave enough to go out as the winds howled. Today we had our first frost and the hydrangea bud was there to hold it.
I guess for a newbie soldier I can post my favorite photo. He is probably not a citizen yet after a year but he will be after serving for the United States for 3 or 4 years. Congratulations.

Thank you Sarge! That is an awesome photo. I can see why it is your favorite. I want a copy of it for my wall! Sean is a citizen. He has a green card and his social security card. All he needs is his naturalization.

awesome thanks! I love it and I am sure he will too
Jfantasma, Sean is fortunate to have such a wonderful friend! My husband is also a Disabled Veteran and I would be honored to post a few of my favorite pics for such a fine young man as your friend. Also, I want to say thank you to you for your service to our country and to Sean for his future service to our country...if not for brave men and women who serve in our armed forces we would not enjoy the freedom that we have in our great country. Once again, thank you...
These are a few of my faves & I though they would be appropriate for a future soldier....after all they are Red, White & Blue!!!!
Coming home safe and sound.Just for you from the UK.
My favourite photo for you.
