Alex Jones... $965 Million!

Would be nice if he were kicked off the air for good now but, we all know that won't happen.

Alex Jones is part of the knuckle-d**gging group funded by the gun nuts. All of his shenanigans are a direct result from the under-the-table money he was getting from the NRA and others to cast doubt on the murders of children.

That is just the compensatory damages awarded. The punitive damages have yet to be determined.

Reportedly he was on his blog mocking the damages as they were announced...gloating that they would never be paid.

In other defamation suit news, a Judge has ordered Trump to sit for a deposition in the rape defamation suit next week. How many times will he reference his new favorite ammendment?

If lies have monetary consequences the Slo Joe owes us each a ton of money. What Alex Jones did may have been despicable but this award is just ridiculous, those folks will never see that money because Jones does not have it to pay.

Figures a disjointed rebuttal would come from you.

Alex Jones was raking in $800,000 a day while making fun of the victim's families.... THAT is despicable.

I don't think anyone expects that kind of money to exchange hands in this verdict but, IF it gets him off the air, so be it.

I hope Jones ends up penniless and living on the street before he dies.

And people like you, who make excuses for him, laugh with him, and buy into his F*Ked up conspiracy theories need to live in the gutter with him.

I think this was punitive damages.

Punitive Damages - damages exceeding simple compensation and awarded to punish the defendant.

But, there is another trial in the making and he has already lost to another family to the tune of $45 Million.

He needs to be taken off the air and stripped of any and all money earned since he started his BS InfoWars.

People who justify trump's actions will justify anything.

You are such a dummy, for the most part you parroted exactly what I said, I made no excuses for him, I said his act was despicable, I do think that he is full of s**t, and here you suggest that I should be living in the gutter and you wonder why I think that you are an AH.

Just think that if Trump also had to ante up we'd have way more than double!

1. Mother of false equivalencies. And a bizarre one at that.

2. What exactly is the legal theory that Jones does not have to pay? Does this come from Trump U Law School?

3, You may think the award is ridiculous, but you don't get to decide. Reality does not bend to your opinion.

If lies have consequences, why do you keep giving trump a pass at his over 30,000 documented lies?

The damages will be collected, albeit over a number of years, from Alex Jones' uneducated cult followers. He's already begun to beg for more money from them to pay the jury awards.

Clearly he does not have the money and I hope that our society has not arrived at the point to where a despicable lie such as Jone's put out there can end up in Billions in restitution. His lies although hurtful did not cause loss of employment, loss of business activity, property damage or any other monetary loss to his victims. So what rational mind could arrive at awards approaching $80 million per family?

He won't pay as clearly this will put him into bankruptcy and so be it, but the system is just a bit out of wack and I don't give a s**t what you think counselor.

I have to say that even though that amount of money won't actually be awarded to the victims, the societal message that the $amount awarded will be commensurate to the degree of harm and amount of assholeness is good. I hope it serves as a societal wake up call that an indvidual's intent to cause harm through lies has financial consequences guaranteed to bankrupt them. Deterrents are good.
