On the day we left, I left my wife asleep and went out early to see what the golden hour had to offer. I drove west along the Island in the Sky Parkway and came upon the Mesa Arch parking lot. It was filled with overflow along the road. I hiked to the arch and found a large crowd at the arch. As the sun rose, there was a scrum and raised voices as people jostled for position. Even in our national treasures with nature displaying its wonders, the urge for that Facebook and Instagram post to show "I was there" is overwhelming. After the sun rise, no one bothered to look around or see what the sun revealed.
This set shows my golden hour ramblings with the last two "iconic" shots taken when we left later in the morning.

I appreciate your thumbs up, Karin.
Their loss for not looking. These are gorgeous, especially number three.

Thanks, Cindy, I guess that some people are in too much of a hurry.
Love the colors of sandstone.
Beautiful set with great light!
Beautifully done, Mike. The morning color that you captured was magnificent.
Nice work. Hopefully for the crowd there, they came back to explore after they went & had some breakfast. You would probably have to do an overnight camp there to jockey for aa front row seat. I don't think I could be bothered & would look for a less popular arch somewhere else.
