My wife and I were there several years ago. A beautiful scenic area . I recall there was an outdoor
bookfair going on. I purchased a book by a good natured lady author. It was titled, Weird West Virginia.
It was not mocking or disparaging. It just pointed out some oddities like all states have. It was noted when we were there that Abe Lincoln was not exactly loved there and was not on the ballot in the 1860 election. It was Virginia
back then. Any corrections as to dates and other facts are welcomed.
