Cellphone with welding glass as a filter.

The thought was to allow longer exposures in daylight.

I had some limited successes. It does affect the color somewhat.

I'd say to keep experimenting. The filter gives an effect, a dark or contemplative mood that I find interesting. Have you tried photographing people with this setup?

Interesting effect, but maybe not the way to go beyond experimentation. Perhaps some different glass of a similar color but not quite as dark. I don’t know if the iPhone is up to handling that kind of light successfully.

Thanks for looking and for your thoughts. I'm not sure how they grade the glass, but what I used was a 10, I think a 7 might be a lighter shade. I may have to see if I can order a piece. The 10 was all that was available at Home Depot.

Maybe try a glass supply place.
