It was a Canon, that is clear from the photo. I can see the word Canon and EOS.

Photos were salvaged and the gear was covered by NASA. No harm done, really.

I worked with a photographer at my former newspaper in Philadelphia, that tried to dry out her wet Nikons in her oven at home, fell asleep and wound up with melted metal and composite lumps of goo.

Part of that became a paperweight on the desk of our Director of Photography. True story.

Cheers

Wow what a waste.

If the media card survived it probably has some very interesting images!

It must have been before lithium batteries, otherwise, there would have been quite an explosion!

She had removed all batteries before trying to dry out the camera, she knew enough to do that. The cameras had gotten totally drenched on a long shoot and there was moisture inside the battery compartment also.

She thought she would just have the gear in the oven for a few minutes, but she fell asleep.

She never was able to live that down among her fellow staffers. LOL

Cheers

Memory card survived. It was a grass fire started by the rocket engines that engulfed the camera.

Some people will do anything for a new camera.

David Yarrow has several cameras a year that are mauled by wildlife. Sometimes an elephant stepping on it. Sometimes lion teeth going through. When he goes into the repair shop they just "what is it this time".

It seems that some of the pros are a little hard on the equipment. The bigger question is not oops but was he able to save the memory card to get the picture. If not then it is a total waste.

Too bad it wasn't a Canon!

Actually I think its a Canon 5Ds. They will likely repair it for free :-)

That looks like a delicious and crunchy piece of fudge.
I lost my appetite though.

It looks like another one of Casey Niestat’s shenanigans again.
