A days worth of photos disappeared from my SD card. I am hoping that they are still actually there and can be retrieved. Can anyone suggest where the card can be taken or sent to try to save them?

Did the camera record the photos to begin with? I'm assuming yes. Do NOT continue to use the card and do not reformat it. Check out this link to see if any of these products can help. Others who have faced this (I have not except with a phone around 10 years ago.) may have specific suggestions.

Most of the card makers have their own recovery software that can be downloaded. I would try that first.

Did you put the card back in the camera to see if the camera recognizes them? Sometimes a computer will not see photos that the camera does. Also, if you have two cards, check the second card.

Remove the card and play internal ( camera ) memory .

Put the card back in the camera and see if your photos are visible. If so, connect your camera to whatever you download to. Download to that destination.

Yes, the camera did record the photos but then later they disappeared. I removed the card and have not done anything to it. I will give the programs a try. Thanks.

Uh, there isn’t any “internal camera memory”. If you can see the image on the little screen of the back of the camera then it is stored on the card. Actually what you are looking at there is jpeg imbedded preview usually matched to the size of that screen. It is part of each file recorded by the camera be it a .jpg, .tiff, or the cameras raw file type. It is highly unlikely that it would be there and the full image corrupted.

If you use a card reader also check to see if the problem is with the reader and/or the USB cable connecting the reader to the computer.

There is internal memory in phones with the option to add an external card (which is going away with increased memory in new phones.) There is internal memory in at least some camcorders with an option to record to an external card. I'm not aware of this setup anywhere else in the camera world.

This is the best advice. Don’t try anything else. It leads to complications. Good luck
