Here's a weird one. I wanted to use my Acer laptop to print, so I connected the Epson ET-2760. The computer recognized it and said it was ready to go. CTRL-P, and the printer is not listed. When I click on Printers in the Print box, it shows the Epson as "Ready." I shut down, restarted, removed, etc. Same result. Then I connected the Epson 970 - same thing. The printer is "Ready," but it doesn't show up where I choose what printer to use.

Looking in Device Manager, there isn't even a listing for "Imaging Devices."

I wanted to print with the Acer because my current Dell desktop doesn't print, either. I was able to print a PDF with my 2012 MBP, so the printers are okay.

Yes, this is weird. Any and all suggestions accepted. : )

1. On your laptop what OS are you running
2. Do you have the latest drivers installed
2A. USB connection*right or wifi* And what about just doing a simple test page print
3. Based on your findings just wanted to ask this beforehand.
4. Try removing all drivers and do not install any drivers just plug in the printer and see if your PC will just install the drivers

On my Windows 10 computer, the printers are listed in the device manager under Print Queues, and when I right click on one of them, it gives me the option to uninstall or update the driver. If you uninstall it, it will reinstall itself after a system reboot. You can try to see if Windows Update has a newer driver. You can also try going Start-Settings-Devices and click on Printers and Scanners to see if Windows detects it. If it does, click on it, click Manage and they run the troubleshooter. Note that none of this may work, but if I had this problem, I'd start this way. Do you have the software that came with the printer? You can try installing it manually. Maybe it's a problem with the driver that MS has.

2A. USB cable - tried different cables.
4. I removed both drivers and printer. When I connected the printer, the computer did not find it.

Driver is the latest.

There is no "Imaging Devices" or "Printers and Scanners" listed in Device Manager.

As I was typing this, I thought I'd try to print again. It said there was a problem, and the Epson Connection Checker would look into it. I had tried that before, and the checker froze indefinitely. Today, it said it found the problem and fixed it. Then it printed. Nothing changed between yesterday and today, but the printer prints. No one can tell me that these things aren't just having fun with us.

Jerry: You are not the only one with ‘technoitus’.
The power went off while my computer was running.
Now that the power is back on my computer will not accept my log-on PIN.

At this point(since I am locked out) I am looking for ways to ‘ENABLE auto login’ of my desk-top computer(not a laptop) since I am the only one with access to this computer (I live alone). I see no compelling security reason to have to enter a Microsoft PIN or Password to get my ‘single-user’ computer to bootup.
The laughter I hear is becoming more vociferous!

Sorry. That wasn't what I Googled. Funny.

I hated having to enter a password or PIN, and it took a long time to find a way to disable it. The link below offers lots of ideas, but it will take you a while to find one that works.
