We've passed through this causeway many times in the past and it was heavily damaged by the Ian hurricane couple of days ago. The picture was taken in summer 2015.
Great shot of the big bridge.
I had planned to go out to Sanibel in December, but it now looks as if that wonโt be the case.
Beautiful shot, so different from what I have seen after Ian.
Nice shot. I have been over that causeway, and the old one, many times over the years. We vacationed on Sanibel every year for more than 25 years. My heart is sadden to think that the beautiful island will never again be the same.

John. I am so sorry that you will not be able to make your December trip. I always looked forward to your Fort Myers Beach photos. Sanibel is one of my favorite places in the world having spent so many vacations there over the years.
First and last time I went you took a ferry. No bridge.
This is a beautiful shot, nicely composed.

We spent happy times on Sanibel. I hope folks there are hanging on until help arrives, and feel very sad for them. Based on a satellite photo I saw, it looks like the beloved Island Inn may be gone. Does anyone know if that's true?
