Bosque is one of my favorite places on the planet. Unfortunately I will miss going there again this year. Nice shorts and thanks for sharing.

Thank you! My pleasure.

Wow! I don't know what to say, Joe! Thank you very much. I have quite a few of the same genre that haven't been posted so maybe I can find something that will still impress you after this. It looks like I have set the bar pretty high!!

Thanks, Don. Not bad at all. A disaster of epic proportions in parts of Florida, but we were lucky. A bit more than was forecast for this area, but I'm not complaining in light of what others have been through! Thanks for asking!

Thank you, texan. I think this frame and a few very similar to it are my favorite in-flight Sandhill crane photos. If it seems oversaturated, all I can say is, I toned down the saturation some in post processing. They still are very intensely colored backgrounds and some people might not like them for that reason. But there is a limit that I'm not willing to exceed in post, and they are very close to what I saw at the time.
Besides, the Cranes know that they have been shot when I'm doing the shooting! They don't hang around long after they have had that experience! No chance for a reshoot!!
I'm glad you liked them!

Thank you, Patty. We are north of Orlando and well inland, so no damage beyond a few down trees and a lot of rubbish lying around.
Yeah, I've been a wildlife photographer for a long time and I'm finally starting to meet my own expectations as far as my technical skills go.
The light was beautiful and there were flocks of them, so plenty opportunity for practice. I'm really pleased with these shots and I have a bunch more that I'm working on.
I do very little post processing, so these are really close to straight out of the camera jpegs.
I'm glad you liked them!

Glad you're okay! Ian was a devastating storm!!
Sports photography had been my passion, but several years ago when I started allowing myself more time to enjoy getting out and taking pictures, I quickly fell into bird and nature photography. I had a strong desire to learn more, and try to become a better photographer. That's when I started with UHH, and now it's the first email I read every day. I mostly read articles to learn more, but occasionally I make time to look at some of the beautiful photos. I'm glad I took time on the day you posted these crane pictures!! One thing that really draws me in to a photo is the lighting, and your crane pictures are absolutely beautiful! Like you, I try to process my photos to look like I remember seeing the original scene. I love the warm saturated colors in these photos. I'm guessing that's one of the reasons you went out to shoot at that particular time of day (and, because you knew when to capture the cranes ;) ). Anyway, this was a little wordy, but thank you for sharing your work. You, and several others on this site have really inspired me as I strive to improve my skills.

Thank you very much, again! You're right, early morning light is key for these and I know where the cranes are going to be throughout the day. Evening light is good for them too, but a very different look!

Thank you, Sylvia. I don't know that I can pick a color, but you aren't the only one to pick #3. So much for leading with your best shot!
