The evening and night turned out to be superb for visual viewing and imaging.

I approached this Star Party with the attitude of having fun as opposed to shooting a bunch of really great astro-images, also I didn't want to tear all the equipment out of my newly setup observatory for two days at a star party!

I set up two imaging configurations:

1) A Sony A7 III and Samyang 14mm lens on a tripod to capture star trails subs. This I let run for close to two hours and captured 465x15sec @ ISO6400 subs. One heck of a lot more stars in this star trails image than the one I shot at Waterton Nat'l Park during the full Moon!

2) A Sony A6100 with its 16-50 kit lens on a Celestron Evolution mount. I shot two sessions of the Milky Way and sessions of Jupiter, the Pleiades and the Big Dipper. All of these sessions were roughly 20-25x30sec @ ISO3200.

There was a little Aurora Borealis activity throughout the evening which added color to the northern horizon.

As I mentioned I went to this star party with the intention of simply having fun. Previously I dragged along a lot of equipment and spent my time frustrated. This time was an outing with old and new friends.
