RASC Alberta Star Party
Sep 24, 2022 12:04:24   #
bwana Loc: Bergen, Alberta, Canada

Currently set up at the annual Alberta Star Party in the Badlands of Alberta by the Red Deer River.

The weather gave us about three hours of clear sky yesterday afternoon before it clouded over for the night. But I did manage to capture some Ha solar video. Shot with a mono Point Grey Chameleon camera, 3x Barlow and Lunt 60 scope on a Celestron Evolution mount. Best frame from 1000 frames of video used in all sessions.

Today is looking very promising with a forecast for clear skies this afternoon and tonight; here's hoping.

Enjoy!

Nice shots. I was hoping that you got the really big monster yesterday. I'm going to post a shot in a separate post. Hoping for clear skies for you.

I like this prominence simply because it looks like it is 'blowing' off to the right, much the same as you'd see with a fountain on Earth with a bit of wind.

I went back the following day and the prominence was still going strong.
