Blind Man - True Story

This is on YouTube. A blind man was exercising in the gym. A woman came over to him shouting, "I didn't come here to have people staring at me." The man told her that he was blind, but that didn't satisfy her. "I don't care about that. I don't want you staring at me."

Then she went away and came back with the manager. The blind man showed his official state "Blind Man" card. The manager said, "That's all well and good, but we can't have you upsetting the customers by staring at them."

The human race must either take a huge jump in evolution very quickly or become extinct. Our supposed intelligence falls way short of what it should be.

America has been "dimbed down" so much. Common sense and logic have been forgotten and are slowly bcoming extinct. So sad.

Your story shows rather well how "perception" is no more important than reality, facts, truth, etc. in today's American society.
The blind man's "stare" is now an act of aggression against the woman.
Rather than accommodate the blind man, she became the victim and demanded something be done on her behalf.

The manager could be in for a big surprise in case the blind man files an ADA suit against the gym.

I understand. Welcome to the Land Of The Stupids.
Here is an excellent example. I was invited by my sister to her birthday party. She asked if I would bring my camera to photograph. I jumped at the opportunity. It was a particularly dark restaurant. We all were enjoying ourselves when a waitress came over to me. She said the people at the other tables were getting upset because my flash was disturbing them. I glanced at my camera, noticing I didn’t place a flash on the hot shoe and I said I’ll be more careful. A short while later a waiter came over to me and claimed that other patrons were disturbed by my flash. Now annoyed, I told him to stop bothering me. A manager came over to me and told me my flash was disturbing the patrons and he himself. I then explained that I do not have a flash, and explained where it should be placed, I explained that I know how to use a camera and told him to stop annoying me. He should be asking those with cell phones to ask people to stop photographing.
I rarely use a flash and am likely to dial up my ISO. I should have shown the staff at the restaurant what a flash looks like and attached it to a portion of their body.
Another example is I was paying my subway train fare. A woman behind me tapped me on the shoulder and motioned I should move aside. I told her to wait her turn and she can ride the amusement ride too!
People in general are not content with observing or listening to others. I am starting to believe that the recent virus affected everyone’s brains too.

When I got my first digital camera I had it with me when I went to my Lexus dealership. I put it around my neck and took it with me, lenscap on it. I also showed it to the receptionists, who were friendly to me. Weeks later I learned that a woman had complained to the manager about me, afraid that I would take her picture. Of course, she didn't seem upset about all the cell phones around.

Years ago on Christmas Eve I was enjoying the show at a discount store Bright Red dress, neck line cut to her navel, The clerk got PO'ed and why don't you just take a picture, me being a gentleman went out to the car and got my camera ,went back in and ask her where she would like to pose,Do you know how different kinds of SOB'S and M/F's there are ? I just smiled and politely told her if she didn't want people looking to cover it up, as I was walking out the door I learned a few more new words.

Was reminded of a statement made by a friend of mine a long time ago.

"It doesn't take long for a cow dropping to change into some interesting exhortations by the one who steps in it."

Thanks for the mental poke.

Yes! I thought about that right away. The manager could be in for several unpleasant months of courts and lawyers. People look for ways to be offended.

I am sure that this started before the virus. It seems more of The Stupids came out of their caves and hoped that others wouldn’t notice.

My brother, when he was the Army Attache at an overseas embassy, was questioned by an immigration staffer upon entering the US - and presenting his US diplomatic passport. "Sir, you have been doing a lot of traveling to a lot of different countries: can you explain that"?
