This river, - The Etchemin - is a short drive from home, so I walked along the path that hugs the river in a number of places. The path bypasses the ruins of an old Abbey with an apple orchard nearby. There was a group of deer having breakfast, but I did not have a telephoto lens with me and so the image, highly cropped and shot at a high ISO due to darkness, has a lot of noise. I omitted it from the set. Intense colors are still a week to 10 days away, so I will return when that time arrives. Naturally, it was quite overcast until about the time that I arrived back at my car.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful walk and the onset of fall, John!
