Very funny, Jerry, I played the tuba through high school, never tried it underwater though.

Jerry, this may sound strange, however, the International Mechanical Code requires a dedicated ventilation system for mechanical equipment rooms where large air conditioning equipment is installed in confined spaces. It requires specialized sensors that detect refrigerant in the air to activate the systems. Our service technicians were supplied with self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as an emergency backup in addition to the ventilation fans turning on.

The problem was that the large systems contained hundreds or even thousands of pounds of refrigerant that were heavier than air and a leak would displace the oxygen in the mechanical room creating a potential loss of life.

Interesting -- many years ago some would cool their car interior on long, hot trips by closing the windows and having a box or two of dry ice there. It would effect a degree of cooling, but if they did not have one window open to a level just below the lowest nose in the car, they eventually died - as the dry ice sublimed. --- I knew that, of course, so still am alive at 94!

Yes, I can imagine how that would be a concern. Someone has to develop a cool computer.

Right! People are too naive. If they can see and touch it, it must be okay, whether it's a chemical or a wild animal. I hope I make it to 94. I've got seven months to go to get to 79. Fingers crossed. : )
