By the way, buffalo is correct...;:

Really? Wikipedia says, "The American bison (Bison bison) is a species of bison native to North America. Sometimes colloquially referred to as buffalo (a distinct clade of bovine), it is one of two extant species of bison, alongside the European bison." That would make the phrase, "American buffalo" appear to be a colloquialism, not something one would use if trying to be precise.

It's Bisalo!! I doubt that the average person would be able to tell the difference with two photos side by side. We saw "European" "Bison" in Denmark. I call both of them Buffalo...Precise or not!

Gorgeous country, I'm from Western MT and just had the chance to visit MT for 10 days. We spent some time around the front range with beautiful and clear conditions. Your image brought back a lot of good memories..thanks:)

I like the way your composition makes use of the road's switchbacks, it's a reminder that there are often some dues to pay for a view like this. A very nice photo Tommy!

Thanks very much to all of you that took time to stop and look in on my image. Yes, we are certainly blessed here in Montana to have some of the most spectacular views in the country. And call it what you will, bison or buffalo, when you see one of these magnificent creatures up close it is a truly amazing experience.
