Lighthouses are very special places in my book. Of these images, I also favor #'s 1 and 7. They illustrate the wildness of the locations.

I do love the treatment you’ve applied to these images, Bob. It’s a mystery to me how one could safely get into some of those lighthouses for servicing if needed. I’m guessing those are some bad weather seas you’ve captured.

These are wonderful! I had no idea MI had more lighthouses than Maine. Hmmm...I am thinking a photo tour is in order. I particularly like the raging water image. Is spring the best time for this type of weather?

Beautiful work, Bob. My wife and I were boaters for many years in New England and grew to appreciate lighthouses for their beauty as well as their guidance. You have captured the many moods of the lighthouses beautifully.

Thanks for sharing

Bob, your display is great. Next time you are in the area be sure to take the mail boat from Leland out to South Manitou Island. The lighthouse still stands. Ask the skipper nicely and you may see the old "Crib" that is now in private ownership. While not a lighthouse in the original sense it was used by freighters to navigate the Manitou Passage. GPS turned out the lights from the houses. Thanx for sharing these.

David, I was a navigator in the Navy when we used to use sextants for celestial fixes, LORAN for electronic fixes, and navigational lights ( as in lighthouses) for terrestrial fixes. If GPS ever goes down, I hope these young sailors remember how to navigate "old school"!
