I don't use Studio lighting nor multiple flash set ups. Would I have much to gain by replacing my SB-910 with a Profoto A10? I'd like to hear from those that have actually used both and can provide input based on personal experience. Thanks.

I have found that OEM flashes that match your camera brand are always your best bet.

Typically using oem equipment would be best.
Not in this case. Firstly the 910 was not known to be the best flash. Although Nikon manufactured decent flash
their business is cameras.
On the other hand Pro Photo arguably makes some of the best flash equipment available.
The A10 far and away blows away all competition. Yes it is more expensive but worth every penny.
If you have the funds do not hesitate. Use the 910 as backup and enjoy a very fine flash.

Have you used both? What advantages would I gain? From your personal experience with each, what noticeable differences in the resulting images did you realize?

I have always felt the same way but see my recent reply to Marlboro above. I'm looking for input from someone who has used both and can answer my questions based on experience. Although I'm fond of Nikon equipment, I still keep an open mind.

As you may recall, Nikon recently announced the end of Nikon flash gear in favor of Profoto and Nissan. Would that be a clue. The A10 should be several times the power of the SB900/910. Sorry, I use the Elinchrom One! Best of luck.

The power of the 2 units are about the same.

Still waiting to hear from someone that has actually used both and can give an experienced comparison. I'm not inclined to lay $1,069 down on a hunch. It would have to better than not equal to the SB-910.

Yes you are......Still Waiting. I was close, but no cigar. BIG price difference between the two. Why aren't you happy with what you have (SB910)? What are YOU looking for? Might help you get the answer you want. I own a SB910 AND (4) SB5000s. Personally, I saw no reason to spend twice as much. I have ADDED the elincrom ONE to my kit for many reasons, but I use everything from the SB700 to the SB5000 as well. What's your hunch? Best of luck.

If I were the OP I would go to the store and take a look at the unit and check the built quality. I would download the manuals and check compatibility.
In my opinion, the Profoto would have better build quality but less compatible to the Nikon cameras. I don't think the reflector on the Profoto can be zoom. So if you shoot bird it would not be as good as the SB.

I took a quick look at the Profoto site for you and I saw NO REASON for me to switch, especially from my SB5000s. Hidden deep is the fact that it's only 73ws where the elinchrom ONE is 113ws. Profoto, along with elinchrom are both known for their quality but I've had absolutely no issues with a Nikon flash ever and I tend to use them hard at some indoor events. The elinchrom ONEs give me studio light flexibility in a completely portable package. I would buy what YOU need! Best of luck.

I thought my post was pretty clear, I have an open mind and always "consider" purchasing any product that would be "better" than what I already have. Thanks for your input.

Oh please, I've already been to the Profoto site. I don't recall suggesting that YOU switch but thanks again for your input.

Thanks but please see my original post. Depending upon any positive experienced feedback from someone that had used both, I may then go to the store.
