A great place to do an early morning walk, stretch your legs and or just find a bench, sit under the oaks and reflect on the beauty of the memorial and the scenery of the Indian River Lagoon. The placard in the first photo explains the history of Veterans Island Sanctuary and its construction for those interested. The 7-acre Veterans Island contains memorials to ALL the wars, EACH of the military services and placards for those Indian River Country residents who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country...Cheers.
