Even though the weather has cooled considerably...Testing out a new Dine ring/point light with this shot. It's not a Nikon dedicated unit & it actually works better as it only has the single pin in the foot. Nikon's TTL units don't work correctly unless you tape over some of the contacts...TTL & iTTL are not compatible which is the reason the dedicated units don't work as well...I like this newer unit also as it is a newer model. Thus it has a slide switch as opposed to a toggle switch to change from the ring to the point light source, plus it also has a small lever which, when pushed, allows you to reposition the point light's position on the ring light.

That makes it an herbivore: it drains plant juices, not insect juices.
This must be a juvenile one as the other images I have of Leaf footed bugs are of much larger insects...

It is a juvenile as it only has wing pads. As it molts to an adult the full hemelytra wings appear and cover the whole abdomen.
